50 mm Triplet Achromatic Lens in relay system

Achromatic Lens is an achromatic consists of a positive low-index Crown Glass lens element cemented to a negative high-index Flint Glass lens element.

Positive Achromatic Doublet Lens and Negative Optical Achromats Lens by two piece single lens (Achromatic Doublet Lens) or three piece single lens (Achromatic Triplet lens) are available.

Achromatic doublet lens has significantly better optical performance than singlet Spherical Lens in visible imaging and laser beam manipulation applications. 

Triplet Achromatic Lenses are designed for 1:1 conjugate ratios and utilize symmetry to correct for aberrations. Steinheils are made from a low index center element cemented between two identical high index outer elements. Each lens is edged down to f-numbers with reasonable aberration correction at increased fields. Steinheil Triplet Achromatic Lenses feature small diameters that allow for mounting in smaller spaces compared to traditional Steinheil lens designs. Steinheil Triplets are ideal for use in relay systems.

Blackening the edges of the achromatic doublet lens will reduce stray-light and increase the singal-to-noise ratio in an optical system.You'll see an improvement in your application.
