Sapphire glass has tensile strength and can withstand high temperatures.Which makes this material ideal for use in hostile environments with its unique combination of excellent physical, chemical, and optical properties retaining its high strength at elevated temperatures. Resists attack from acids and alkali. Available as Sapphire Infrared Window , sapphire Infrared Optics Lens , Sapphire Ball Lens , Sapphire Half-Ball Lens , sapphire Wedge Prism , sapphire blanks and tubing, all custom manufactured.

Cylindrical lenses are used to correct astigmatism in the eye and in rangefinders, to produce astigmatism,stretching a point of light into a line. Plano-Concave Cylinder Lens commonly used to turn a collimated laser source into a line generator. The plano-concave Cylinder Lens and Plano-Convex Cylinder Lens ( Pcx Cylindrical Lens ) can be used together for beam expander applications.Some styles of cylindrical lenses have antireflection coatings to increase the transmission of light through the lens.
